This is the page where I link to the interesting corners of the World Wide Web I have discovered.

People
- DuncanJ
- Creator of a certain MUD. Lots of interesting stuff here.
- Scribe
- Words, words, words... he even has a blog. But who is Scribe?
- Grilly
- Are you Grilly?
- Steve
- Steve's site - "It pwns"
- Ollie G's Beats By Design
- Ollie's AI drum machine project.
Computer
- Slashdot
- Mmm... /. geek news.
- NTK
- Your weekly sarcastic IT news update. Plus excellent T-shirts.
- Debian
- My favourite Linux distribution. apt-get install it now!
- Brighton Linux User Group
- Use Linux? Live in/near Brighton? You are obliged to attend BLUG meetings under the terms of the GPL.
Games
- Alternate Universe MUD
- A MUD by duncanj (see above). Written from scratch in Java. I have contributed to it a fair bit. There is also a forum.
- The Interactive Fiction Archive
- Loads of excellent IF (text adventure) games here. I may expand on this subject later.
- Nethack
- Get yourself lost in an endless maze of #'s, attacking monsters that look like letters. Hours of fun, seriously...
- Thangorodrim - The Angband Page
- Similar to Nethack, with loads of variants. My favorite is Zangband.
- Unreal Tournament 2004
- OK, so I'm not a total text-game purist. I like the occasional bit of 3D hyper-violence. The best thing is, it runs on Linux! I play online as Grid... see you there, through my rocket launcher sights... ;)
Useful
- Accessible Odeon
- A re-coding of the Odeon site's frontend which is much more straightforward and non-broken. Update: Odeon's web-people have finally learned some HTML and re-written their site. Not before getting heavy with this site's author though.
- Accessible National Rail Enquiries
- Another frontend re-coding. Very useful.
- Transport Direct
- Even more useful. A fully integrated transport site by the Department for Transport. Door to door planner with public transport and car journeys side by side.
- DNSstuff
- Lots of tools for doing whois, traceroute, etc. through a web interface.
Stuff & Things
- The Degree Confluence Project
- This site is a great way to learn about arbitrary bits of the Earth's surface, especially if you go random.
- IS THIS YOU?
- Ever lost a photo on the street? You could be here.
Barney Livingston
- Doctors by Erich Segal
- "When childhood friends Barney Livingston and Laura Castellano enter Harvard Medical School in 1958, they are soon physically and emotionally overwhelmed by mountains of demanding coursework, a classmate's suicide and the vivisection of clumsily anesthetized dogs."
My name isn't exactly the most common in the world, so it's quite odd to see it used as for the main character in this book, especially when the first sentence is "Barney Livingston was the first boy in Brooklyn to see Laura Castellano naked".
- Barney the Whitehouse Dog
- George W Bush's Scottish Terrier
- Hacking Barney
- The Barney Fun Page!
